Ny dag, nye muligheter! / A new day, new possibilities

(EN) The work at Ice-Rise B is done and it went verry well. But then we have to move to the next place, wich is Ice-Rise C and the long loop. So today we packed up the rest of our camp and drove off with our home. Kind of like two giant turtles on the move. I took us six hours to drive to our new site and another two hours to get most of our camp put back up again.

Half of our team will stay here and and perform the same radar- and snow-measurements we did on the first ice-rise. The second group will go on a long loop-trip on the Jutulstraumen ice stream and measure how fast the ice is moving and how warm the seawater UNDER the ice is.

 

Otherwise, busy day so one thought to take a picture. Sorry..

 

(NO) Jobben på Ice-Rise B er gjort og det gikk jo veldig bra. Men da må vi flytte videre til neste sted, nemlig Ice-Rise C og den lange rundturen. Så i dag pakket vi ned resten av leiren og dro av sted med huset vårt. Som to gigantiske skilpadder på tur. Det tok oss seks timer  å kjøre til det nye stedet og to timer til for å sette opp det meste av leiren igjen.

Halve teamet vil bli her og utføre samme type undersøkelser som vi gjorde på den første is-kulen. Den andre gruppa skal kjøre en lang rundtur på  Jutulstraumen og måle hvor fort isen beveger seg samt hvor varmt sjøvannet UNDER isen er.
