The timing of our departure could not have been better, we joined the convoy of the transport team on their way to the boat loading bay. With their powerful Everest machines they dragged two of our heavy sleds part of the road, saving us fuel and sparing our vehicles.
Behind us the mountains that shelter the Norwegian colony at Troll got smaller and smaller as we drove toward Fimbulisen.
The journey has truly begun.
