(EN) When not in the Antarctic, I live and work in Tromsø. This will be my 7th trip to the Antarctic with the Norwegian Polar Institute and I will be responsible for the teams safety. By the time this project starts I will have been in the Antarctic 8 weeks already working as expedition leader at Troll. My first task will involve glacier and winter safety training for the team before setting off on the fieldwork. Since all our work is on glacier ice we can risk encountering crevasses, so my main tasks involve checking out new areas with a ground penetrating radar to see if the area is safe before commencing on the scientific work. Although I have been on Fimbulisen four times before and know the area quite well, I am still looking forward to the challenges of finding a safe route. I am looking forward to a successful field season!
